Announcing Two New Trips for the Fall!

Haiti Missions Trip

September 2 - 6, 2010

The Global Orphan Project supports over 2,000 orphans in 18 orphanages in Haiti.  Orphan villages normally consist of multiple orphan homes, a clinic, school, church, and micro businesses all focused on providing and caring for the orphans.  Since the earthquake in January 2010, they have also established a transitional village/orphanage outside of Port-au-Prince to help facilitate the additional orphans.

CBC will partner with the Global Orphan Project to teach “Business 101” to entrepreneurs associated with the orphanages as well as for the supporting churches. We will also potentially provide wellness checkups for the children if we have physicians and nurses available for the trip.   In addition, we will be joined by trained children’s ministry staff that will help develop curriculum and ministry direction for the orphanages.

The team will be comprised of business and medical professionals along with support staff. Participants should be in very good health and have the characteristics of being flexible and adaptable.  The living environment will be basic and most likely not air conditioned. The cost for the trip is $1,200 plus incidentals.

Ukranian Mission Trip

September 23—October 4, 2010

Nick and Maia Mikhaluk minister to more than 10,000 people per year in the Ukraine through Bible discussion groups, English as a Second Language classes (TESOL), business classes, as well as various outdoor activities.  Their primary goal is to reach the 97% of the Ukraine that are atheists with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

CBC will be sending a team of 4 to 6 business professionals to teach TESOL classes for one full week.  We will also have the opportunity to assist with the Bible discussion groups as well as to potentially teach additional business classes and/or photography.  These classes are taught Monday through Saturday from 6:00 to 10:00 PM each evening.  The mornings will consist of training and debriefing from the previous evening’s classes.  The afternoons afford flex time to see Kiev and to have ad hoc meetings with students.

The team will be comprised of business professionals.  Teaching as well as business experience will be a plus for this trip.  Participants should be 30 years of age or older.  Each team member will be housed by a family associated with the ministry.  The cost for the trip is $2,200 plus incidentals.
